Lichtenstein castle is an ancient castle of Germany. With fall color and natural beauty all around its worth visiting on one’s visit to Germany.
History
Lichtenstein Castle (German – Schloss Lichtenstein) is a privately-owned Gothic Revivalcastle located in the Swabian Jura of southern Germany. It was designed by Carl Alexander Heideloff and its name means “shining stone” or “bright stone”. The castle overlooks the Echaz valley near Honau, Reutlingen in the state of Baden-Württemberg. The modern castle was inspired by the novel Lichtenstein (1826) by Wilhelm Hauff and was built in 1840–1842. The ruins of an older medieval castle are a few hundred meters away.

The Journey
It was my sudden visit to Germany. As a project manager I had to rush to manage a shopping cart project, which we were developing offshore. It all happened so fast that I hardly had any time to plan my visit.
The project and the company owner invited me to stay at his house with him and supervise the project. At first I was bit tensed; at my boss’s home with him! But no time to think or decide but to pack by bag and rush.
To my delightful surprise my boss himself came to receive me. What a pleasant and friendly personality he has. Within no time, from my boss he became my friend, as if we knew each other for years.
He is a very busy man. But he managed time from his busy schedule to give me a tour to the best places of Germany. When he could not manage time himself; he asked his family members to accompany and guide me. What a nice gentle man he is. May God be by his side always.
In this visit to the Lichtenstein castle I was accompanied by my boss/friend’s father and son. At this age too, what an expert driver he is! He drove so well through the curves of the hilly terrain towards to castle. The road itself is full of natural beauty all over with fall color and snow here and there.
Indeed a journey for me to remember in years to come.
